The Zambia YMCA Mental Health Programme is all about giving young people the tools they need to understand, manage, and speak up for mental well-being in their schools and communities.
Through fun sessions, peer support groups, and safe spaces to chat, participants have picked up skills to break the stigma around mental health and promote healing where it's really needed.
We just celebrated a big milestone with the graduation of our latest group! They’re now part of a growing movement of youth champions pushing for mental health awareness all over Zambia.
Together, we’re building a future where mental health is understood, supported, and prioritized.

Ready For Work with ABSA Bank
Young people are getting equipped with relevant, market-driven skills through a blended learning approach that combines digital access with in-person support. This is getting done through the Ready for Work Training Programme in Zambia YMCA in patrnership with Absa Bank Zambia and the innovative tech hub, HeziTech STEM & ICT Hub.
The programme is already demonstrating strong reach and engagement, with over 350 young participants onboarded and more than 800 youth actively connected through the learning community.
This growing participation reflects both the demand for practical skills and the programme’s relevance in today’s employment landscape.
Through this effort, young people are better positioned to build sustainable livelihoods, strengthen their employability and transition confidently into real-world opportunities thus empowering youth and shaping resilient communities across Africa.
